The campaign to retake Arizona’s Congressional District 5 has already begun! Here is the latest ad put out by the David Schweikert Campaign committee featuring Congressman Mitchell dodging a simple citizen question on how he will vote on the Pelosi health care bill.
Much like his liberal Senate colleague, John Kerry, he can now say he voted against it before he voted for it!

He’s Back! Ruben Marinelarena-Gallego Announces Bid for House
Maybe you remember this Harry goupie? He’s the liberal Democratic activist who starred in Mitchell’s token “veteran video.”
His name is Ruben Marinelarena, a.k.a. “Ruben Gallego.” In an earlier post, we mentioned that Marinelarena-Gallego works for Phoenix City Councilman, Michael Nowakowski. Well, that’s not the case anymore. On Thursday, Marinelarena-Gallego announced he was resigning in order to run for the Arizona State House.
We could have seen this coming.
Marinelarena-Gallego was preparing all along to make a bid for office because that’s what liberal Democratic activists do.
Now he wants your vote for public office so he can write the laws you have to live under. If you want to know how M-G really feels about public policy, be sure and read our earlier post and how as a U.S. Marine while on deployment in Iraq, spewed his anti-war sentiment on the Daily Kos.
Mitchell Will Vote for Federal Takeover of Health Care!
It’s official. Despite all the phone calls, emails, faxes, letters, personal visits and massive protests, Congressman Harry Mitchell will be voting for the Nancy Pelosi-Obama version of the federal takeover of health care.
Here is an excerpt of the statement he released this afternoon:
Most folks in Washington seem to be more concerned with scoring political points for next year’s election than delivering reforms we need. The political way out would be a vote to do nothing. But playing it safe, which I could do, is why big problems – like healthcare and immigration reform – have yet to be tackled. I didn’t come to Congress to do nothing.
As we predicted, Nancy Pelosi and the heavy-handed Obama Administration got through to Harry. And although his carefully-worded statement attempts to give the impression of a painfully deliberated decision, it is anything but that.
Mitchell just bought himself a ticket home in November, 2010 and will miss out on being vested in the federal retirement system. It’s fair to say that his goose is cooked – well done.
And all you good folks who stood outside Mitchell’s office over the last 4-5 months, it’s time for the real work – helping a conservative to retire Mr. Mitchell.
Tossing Harry’s Cookies
Looks like Harry Mitchell’s cookie recipe is featured in a cookbook put together by Legislative District 20 Democrats. The cookbook called How to Cook An Elephant, features the recipes of several prominent Democrats. Christmas cookies were Harry’s choice. Although we haven’t seen the book yet, one may order it through the liberal Democrat website, “ActBlue.” Proceeds from the sale of the book will go to fund the liberal activities of LD-20 Democrats who will continue to make the district a terrible place to live, work and elect lousy officials like Harry Mitchell. Makes you want to toss Harry’s cookies!
